The OBLIGATORY Guests

We've seen ABHIMANYU and MEERA struggle with the pains of zabardasti ke mehman in Bin Bulaye Mehman season 1, as they struggled with the pains of dealing with a picky JAHNVI and an ever chill SUNNY. And most of us related to the pains that they felt, because at some point or the other we've all faced uninvited guests lounging themselves in our houses while we wonder how to make them leave while still being polite!

At one point there were guests in my house for a month who refused to leave and in fact took over my room, bathroom and even had a shelf in my cupboard for their stay! But there are many many types of obligatory guests who just don't get the hint, and I'm sure when I say this you can think of some too. At Shitty Ideas Trending, Co-founders Mohit Hussein and Chhavi Mittal, have had ample experiences with their own share of uninvited guests at some point or the other in their lives much like any other married couple!

There is the classic kind that comes and stays at your house assuming it to be theirs, and uses up your towels, food, bed and overtakes your TV and maybe one day you even see them interacting with your dearest maid a little more than you! While such guests may not start off as univited, they do  drain you of so much energy while they go ahead and save all of their hotel costs, that they end up being uninvited for the rest of their lives. Then there is the type that calls you up and asks you if you're free and simply pops up for a drink or two, whether you're in the mood or not. You may have had a long day at work, but you may not have the heart to tell them that they are imposing so you assume that they'll stay for an hour and leave, but before you know it, it's been 4 hours and they are still talking about their mean boss over the 5th drink!

The kind I have hated the most are the ones that just don't get the hint, you know the kinds that come for lunch, then stay for tea afterwards and then eventually stay so long that you have to feed them dinner as well and then there are times when after that they suggest ice cream with a movie on your TV!

So while they leave your house satisfied, fed and entertained, you crash on your bed exhausted, bored and regretting the wastage of an entire day, and swearing never to invite them again!

I remember another kind, the ones who don't understand when the family is trying to have some personal time. Maybe they popped up for tea or just a chat and overheard your family making a plan for the mall or a movie. A normal person would excuse themselves and leave and let the family have their day off, but these invited guests add themselves to the itinerary and eventually you're sitting on each other's laps in the car because you have a plus one to the movie theatre and at the family dinner table at the restaurant you always go to. And while they may tell you at the end that they had a lovely time, you and your family alone know how much was contained and controlled so that the outsider doesn't get privy of insider family information at the dinner table!

But zabardasti doesn't always just take place in this direction. It also happens the other way around. Like when the colleague at work forces you to come home and have his wife's cooking or just a drink. Now you're invited guests. But you don't want to be invited. What do you do in such a sticky situation? And what do you think our favourites ABHIMANYU aka Pracheen Chauhan and MEERA aka Pooja Gor are doing in such a situation as they get obligatorily invited over to JHANVI (Mansi Parekh) and SUNNY's (Puru Chibber) house? Watch the second episode of BIN BULAYE MEHMAAN - Season 3 to uncover their plight and to see how they deal with it!
