To THOSE who PROTECT us

Around this time, 2 years ago we were basking in the glory of the success of our Rakshabandhan short film Sinha Vs Sinha with Iqbal Khan, who despite not being a part of our regular SIT cast has been a part of our Shitty Ideas Trending Family in one way or another. Be it because of SIT's co-founder Mohit Hussein's previous work with Iqbal from the TV shows Waaris and Choona Hai Aasmaan or because of Sinha Vs Sinha. Our regular viewers would know that Rakshabandhan is very close to our hearts and we have never missed the opportunity to create something special around this time.

At Shitty Ideas Trending, we have made it our goal to ensure that we provide content that not only our followers love and enjoy, but also create content that carries value be it The Better Half or our Special Short Films. Which is why as Independence Day fell on the same day as Rakshabandhan, we got down to creating something our followers would find etched in their memories even after.

SIT Co-founders Chhavi Mittal and Mohit Hussein have always wanted to do something when it came to Independence Day. Their main priority was always to be able to thank the armed forces in whatever little way we could for their never ending and never tiring duty that they do for us and our country. But the reason why we haven't been able to do so till now is because it's not possible to thank the sacrifices made by the armed forces for our safety and hence we failed every time we tried to pay them a tribute.

It's been 72 years since Independence, and the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters is something we have never forgotten. And even today our armed forces continue to sacrifice more than their time and days for us. Irrespective of Diwali, Holi, Eid, Christmas or Rakshabandhan our glorious armed force has stayed away from friends, family and their hometowns to make our safety and our protection their priority. While our family, our fathers, mothers, sisters and brothers are protective, possessive and ever alert for us, the armed forces have made the entire country and each citizen their family with a singular oath to protect us through every adversity. What could be a greater sacrifice or a greater example of selfless love? There is a popular phrase, 'There is no love greater than the love you have for your country' and our armed forces have been the greatest torchbearers for the same.

So when it came to creating something, for Rakshabandhan and Independence Day, our director Mohit Hussein spent the bulk of his time to create a script that could amplify the joy and pride of this day. And who better to do it with than someone like Iqbal Khan. The cast was joined by the crowd favourite Riva Arora to add to the joy. Viewers would remember Riva's outstanding performance from Uri, as the little girl who lived with the dreams of joining the armed forces once she grew up seeing her father's zeal! Along with another special actress, Neha Julka, who debuted in Mohit Hussein's directorial debut, Kaisay Kahein !

Our Special Short Film for this year is an ode to the love and respect we have for those who protect us, brothers and armed forces alike.

So catch our special feature as we celebrate Raksha Bandhan and Independence Day.
